Follow-up Bulletproof Coffee and Coconut Tortilla Wraps
Due to reader demand I'm writing this follow-up to last week's blog about bulletproof coffee to include some recipes.
I brew mine with espresso made in a perculator because that's my coffee method of choice, but if you prefer a different method by all means. Brew your standard cuppa, place in a blender with two tablespoons of unsalted organic grass-fed butter and 1 - 2 teaspoons brain octane oil. Blend well and enjoy.
You can replace the butter with 1 tablespoon of organic grass-fed ghee.
With the brain octane, you want to start out with small doses and work your way up to a larger dose over time, to avoid gastric discomfort, or as Dave Asprey, founder of Bulletproof calls it, disaster pants. I prefer euphemisms like intestinal instability =)
If you prefer an ultra creamy brew, go with a short strong espresso. If that's too rich for you, a more watery drip coffee or plunger style brew might be best.
Coconut flour tortillas:
Unfortunately I have limited access to ingredients at the moment so I'm unable to experiment and try out recipes to give you a guaranteed good one. However after having a look online, I think this one looks great, very simple, and lots of how-to tips for troubleshooting. If anyone has a chance to try them (or another recipe), please post a comment and let us know how it goes!
